railway

June 8, 2006

i got to know these sorta neighbors who have a lovely red housie with a long long garden. at the end of the garden there’s a bench overlooking the biggest italian railway crossing.

So you can sit on the bench and look at trains going by in three directions and you can say hi to al the passengers. Some say hi back, some shout "whore!!!" which is actually really sad and it takes all the poetry away.

saturday night we decided to go take night pictures around the area and our almost-neighbors took us for a walk on the railway tracks all the way up to tuscolana station. i found out that whole families live in the little abandoned railway houses between the tracks. Also, I broke the bottle of wine we wanted to drink while walking and everybody hated me. it’s just that it was there on the ground, and it was so dark that i didn’t see it. We took some pictures and walked along a railway path until a Eurostar train passed and scared us although it was far.

so we walked back.
